God Our Refuge

I am a strong proponent of truth, period, but especially as it's presented in this scripture verse. I have learned how to "take refuge" in the Lord, to laugh in His gladness, and sing in His JOY.

It wasn't always like that, y'all. As I said, I've learned how to indulge in and enjoy all these things, because God is merciful and He took pity on a lost soul He loved.  He saved me at nine years old and, by degrees, has been deepening and widening the inheritance of His salvation within me ever since.

Now I know how to "find JOY", I know how to "take refuge" in His everlasting arms. Daddy accomplished this within my soul through proving Himself worthy of my trust. (The beauty in this is that God need not prove anything of Himself for Himself - He went to such lengths FOR ME... that I would embrace faith believing in His unconditional love for me, no matter what.) He taught me that - in Him - I am safe from condemnation (that's a biggie), and that I am welcome (never rejected) wherever, whenever, and how ever He is.  I didn't always believe that.

For me, the process of "learning" has chiefly involved my emotions, beliefs, and mindsets - mainly dismantling the false ones and replacing them with His truths.  All of my beliefs were flawed in some way, and some were grossly flawed.  But Daddy took them all on His shoulders and showed me I need not be ashamed of needing His correction in these places.  He secured me in His unfailing love so He could reveal His renovation plans, safely.  By that I mean, God FIRST proved Himself to my emotions in areas of His unconditional love for me so that I would not abandon Him when the time came for the absolute demolition of most of my former mindsets, thought processes, and belief systems.

Pretty much everything except the extreme foundational truth of salvation being found only in Jesus Christ was put to His fire... and I continue in amazement at how much of it has burned to pitiful ashes and cinders.  Merciful Father!  Letting His humility reign within me in every area has been the rescuing of my soul from evil, my friends.  Believe me, there are so many things we think we know and understand but, once God puts His hand of omniscience to our hearts, we realize we've truly known nothing at all.  Whatever truth we do know, we know from His bosom of comfort and mercy; nothing else, and certainly nothing in and of ourselves - ever.

So I take refuge in Him as "Source" because He has taught me that He's the only place there is for solace (true Peace), refuge (sheltered safety), and strength (renewal, JOY).  Embracing Him in truth always ultimately generates JOY.  I run to the blazing hearth of His Presence to escape the shivering, blinding cold of the world, the flesh, and the devil. So should you all. And be GLAD you don't know anything apart from Him and His goodness - I am!  For what other source of value and true worth is there, anywhere? Yep, you've got it...

Absolutely no other.

Lifting up songs of praise and thanksgiving to His Precious, Holy Name...

Seasons Proclaim God's Goodness

True goodness enjoys uninterrupted, everlasting flow right from the heart and loins of God, but I am most acutely aware of it during the passing seasons of life on the earth.

I see how spring shows forth His mercy when it breaks the grip of snow and ice.  Then in summer's warmth I see His splendor on hillsides covered in deep green grass and the blazing spectrum of wildflowers. I bless Him for the resting place found in fall as seeds "seemingly dead" upon dried, withered ground actually simmer in the transitional germination/expectation of new life. And then, the God of all preservation commands a snowy cloak to swaddle the ground and protect earth's surface, destroying germs and viruses (for "who can withstand His cold?").

Indeed Daddy is THE Mighty God; THE Good God Who shows forth the glorious attributes of His character with every tick of the clock, and renews His generous mercies upon each rotation of the earth. Hallelujah!

When we ask, Holy Spirit will show us the Father's hand in everything, and our hearts will resound with the same magnanimous praise the Lord Jesus our High Priest utters in truth before Him daily.

"O, Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your Name in all the earth!" (Psalms 8:9)

Desperation's Perspiration

Present your petitions to God and leave them there - (make the decision to) stand on His faithfulness.  That's what Holy Spirit said to me when I considered the message of this post.

There's desperation in these hands, that's why I believe Abba led me to this picture today. Many times we pray, and we believe, but we are desperate in our entreaty, and sweat forms under our noses and eyes; it coats the palms of our hands.  We mean what we pray but, too often, turn to God in breathless, final recourse.  Daddy wants to put an end to desperation's perspiration.  He wants faith in Him to live within us, daily, so that our days can begin and end in the confidence of His unfailing love and ability on our behalf.

"Am I not faithful?" Abba says to me through Holy Spirit.  Hallelujah.  The truth is He IS faithful.  Jesus faithfully loosens the clenched hands of desperate prayers, and He dries our sweat and tears.  He eases the pain of torturous doubt, fear, and unbelief and says with stalwart, binding power, "I will not fail you."

You know He's real, Saints.  You know He has all power.  Don't doubt Him when times get tough, trust Him - even when you have to cry - for He is Faithful to remove all sorrow and turn it into shouts of joy!  You know it's true, especially if He's done it before in your life; draw on that memorial stone and believe that He will hear and answer your heart again.  He will deliver you from trouble, as He delivers the righteous from all of their afflictions. He is faithful to deliver and to heal.  Pour out your heart to Him, and He will supply all the testimony you need to set other captives free.

As the scripture says, thank Him at the same time you're beseeching Him. Bless His Holy Name in the assurance of victory! Stand firm in your belief in His ability to thoroughly conquer on your behalf.  Just take it to Him and (ask Holy Spirit to enable you to) leave it there, Saints.  Don't be anxious or desperate... be glad!

God bless you.

Let's Start LAUGHING!

How many times have you succinctly asked God to "cause you to laugh"?  I mean bless you with fall down, sense and nonsense, silly laughter?  It works wonders, you know!

I love to laugh until I can't stand up, or until I can't take a breath, or until my sides and cheeks ache! Sincerely deep down belly laughter can renew the heart, mind, and emotions for hours (and even days) at a time when we refuse to relinquish the God-given JOY attached to it.

We all know what the scriptures say about such things, right?

"A merry heart does good like a medicine."

"The JOY of the Lord is your strength."

"Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY COMES IN THE MORNING."

"REJOICE in the Lord always and, again, I say REJOICE!"

Laughter, merriment, and JOY by God's definition are conditions we should seek as tonics to our lives.  Since we are Daddy's boys and girls and abide in Him we can "ask anything" in Christ's Name and it will be given to us.  So, hey...

Remember that you know how to laugh because Daddy laughs; you know how to have JOY because it's of the Lord!  Let's take on the character and powerful weaponry of our Father, y'all!  In Jesus, let's rejoice! Let's start laughing MUCH more!

Don't be afraid or ashamed to ask the Lord to "tickle you" today!  You're not taking liberties by doing so, my friends, you're asking in direct accordance to His will for you to have JOY and to have each dim prospect/perspective of life changed to brightness and HOPE!  So, hey...

God bless you as you go forth in Him, with JOYYYY!

Here's What's NEW!

While it's true that there is nothing new under the sun, I'm grateful for the truth that our God dwells over and above the sun!  Ha! Praise His Mighty Name!

Saints, when you feel like there's nothing fresh or vital to share in life, lift your heads from earth's daily routines in the research of reference books and commentaries... and draw on Christ aloneJesus dwells above earth's sun and ministers to the Father of Lights, Who makes all things new, eternally!

Lift up your heads and have HOPE!  Draw on God's Spirit for JOY, and be strengthened thereby. Hallelujah!  He's the God of nearly 300 Daddy's Girl posts in less than two years, folks! Surely, He will supply all your need for newness and the fresh fire of His anointing, always.

He's called us into intimate fellowship with Him, that we will be internally equipped in every way to fulfill His commissioning to tell all the world that HE is the Answer of all answers; King of kings and Lord of lords!  When we draw on His Spirit, He grants us ever-new and intriguing ways to reach those who do not know Him. He gives us access to the untapped treasures of His mercy and revelatory truth to bathe unbelievers in the beauty of His understanding heart and the intoxicating fragrance of His unconditional love and faithfulness.

HALLELUJAH, saints!  Say it with me:

Yes, I've got newness of Life, and His Name is JESUS THE CHRIST, Son of the ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD!  Praise His Mighty Name!  Amen!

Pray for Wayward Youth

My heart is concerned for wayward children today, so I'm directing my thoughts in testimony, encouragement, and comfort to the parents and the kids:

Godly parents truly only desire to help their children; their counsel is not meant as an act of trespass against youthful growth, spirit, or even so-called "independence".  Rather, Godly parents desire to arm their children with God's truth and wisdom that they might be spared the unnecessary pain and turmoil born of embracing this world.

My mother once told me, "Honey, it's not that God doesn't want you to have fun - it's that He doesn't want you to kill yourself trying to have fun."  Lol... truer words have not been spoken.

Unfortunately, at some point, the term young and stupid fits the lives and decisions of most adolescents, worldwide. I've been romanced by that term's deceptive flirtations, first-hand - as have nearly all parents - and that's exactly what the older, wiser generation is trying to convey to today's kids.  We know what we're talking about, because we've been there and done that and reaped what we sowed!  It's a cutting predicament when loving admonitions fall upon deaf ears.  Older folks know what is to come of bad decisions, little ones... and they only want to help you.

As a youth, I had constant struggles with pride - I mean, ridiculously.  Since I thought I "knew it all", pride kicked my hind-quarters all over the place until I realized the true wisdom couched within humility.  Yet again, God saved me from myself via the sound teaching of His Spirit through my mother.  Friends, she locked me in the powerful gaze of her holy, soulful, brown eyes one day and solemnly said to me, "Sharon, humble is the way."

Oh, how I respected, revered, and regarded her life in Christ!  And Abba knew that.  He knew the transforming strength He imparted to her words falling on my (often foolish) young ears, and He used that to my supreme benefit.  I saw how His Spirit of Humility blessed her in His wisdom and gave light to her coffers in discernment and knowledge of deeper truths... and I wanted that more and more in my life. So, I began to let Holy Spirit speak to me, reason with me, and encourage me to listen to her counsel and admonitions regarding my conduct, speech, and choices.  Tada! My life began changing for the better and, because I received God's truths through her counsel, He was able to bless me with His supernatural wisdom in very deep places, accelerating my growth in Him and strengthening my decision (later in life) to keep following Him.

But it wasn't until I decided within my own heart to humble myself and heed God's words that sweetness and joy entered my life.  So many times I could have died, but I didn't, because of Daddy's mercy.  As all wayward souls, young or old, I was worthy of death - but I was loved so dearly, and prayed for so mightily, God literally hid my heart from the enemy's fatal grasp.  God saved my soul from certain death due to the prayers of my Godly parent who only wanted to help me.  Through pride's affliction of my life, she prayed; through my ignorance, she prayed; through my sin and mistakes, she prayed and continued to love.

God knew better than I.  Ma knew better than I.  Thanks to God's mercy - I now know better, too, and I pray for His continued, loving deliverance of wayward children, everywhere.

[Merciful God, please enable all Your loving parents to persevere with their children, in Jesus' Name. Please cause them to "continue to love" as You have loved and clung to them, unconditionally. O, Holy Spirit, please rise up and hover over the hearts and minds of those immature and often frightened children; cause them to know Your care and love.

In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Who came in the flesh, we take authority over every vestige of fear combating them; we burn fear with the fire of Holy Spirit and cast it into the abyss, forbidding its return, in Christ's Name. We speak God's Spirit of Perfect Love and Faith into every void, as counters to fear.  We cover these relationships with the Blood of Jesus, and we forbid the enemy or his operatives any access to any of them at all, in Christ's Name.

Father, please dry every tear and comfort every heart wounded by the choices of rebellious youth. Above all, Holy Father, please keep the hearts of parents tendered towards their children and obedient to Your desires on their behalf. In Jesus' precious, holy Name we pray and thank You. Amen.]

Godly parents, hold on and press on, in Jesus' Name.  The God we serve brought us from darkness into His marvelous light, and He is still enthroned in Power and Mighty to save!

The Power of Agreement

God cares about every form of agreement forged in our hearts in every place, because when we agree with any concept, words, spirit, or thing, it is given legal right to affect us with its fruit.

For example, I saw the film "Contact" when it played in theaters back in 1997, largely because the theme of the movie intrigued me, and I was then a fan of Jodie Foster.  But when the work was released on DVD some months later, Holy Spirit would not allow me to purchase it. Indeed, my best friend Lynette and I stood in a video store for several minutes while I held the package, unable to shake the "check" to my spirit regarding its purchase.

Thank God, the bottom line was I put it back on the shelf in obedience but, to say the least, my curiosity was piqued.

Agreement's Impact

God knows the impact and power of "agreement", for it is His own anointed principle made fully enforceable at mankind's behest.  When I asked the Lord why He would not allow my purchase of the aforementioned film, Holy Spirit led me to the movie's dedicatory inscription, "For Carl", referencing Carl Sagan, the self-proclaimed agnostic.

Without going into Sagan's achievements or death or other beliefs, I will say that God made it clear to me the power of agreement would have been invoked by my purchasing the film dedicated to him and actually based on his novel of the same name... truths of which I was unaware.  Daddy's principle bore special application to my life in this instance, because I love and identify on some level with most of the movies in my sizable collection. Ignorance or no, purchasing the film definitely would have been an act of agreement and a statement of my embrace of its content and muse. Holy Spirit's gentle halt to my spirit proved to be a priceless protection!  Jehovah God is our Protector, my friends.  Hallelujah, Amen!

The enemy waits for instances of ignorance to open doors for our destruction but, if our hearts are genuinely yielded to God's leading - even in dark and blinded places - His light will faithfully shine to save us.  (Don't be afraid of this life, dear ones, simply ask Daddy to live His life within you, and He will - just like He does/did for me.)

Beloved, draw on the Wisdom of God every day of your lives, and always prayerfully consider actions, purchases, thoughts, and speech before entering into agreement concerning them. Be thankful to God for His protections, and remember that God originally gave mankind dominion over the earth, and what was once lost to the enemy has been restored to us through faith in Jesus Christ.  That means all the earth and its atmosphere respond to what we say and do! (In Christ's authority, we can also release Heaven's bounty!) So we want our agreement - at all times - to be aligned with Yahweh and His will over our lives.

God bless you.

What does GOD think?

"... rather, let your adornment be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)
I've never outgrown appreciation for the truth that God looks on the heart rather than the outward appearance.  In today's society, scripture verses like this mean more to women than men; especially those of us who aren't exactly considered bathing beauties outwardly.
It's only what God thinks that matters.  What He values has value; and whatever He deems as precious IS precious.  That's us, folks!  Whether the world says/thinks you "look good" or not, God calls you beautiful.  Whether society judges you worthy of accolades based on fashion and makeup and high heels and perfume (none of which I'm knocking per se), God views the heart He's built within you as lovely.  God calls you "precious".  I've been told that many times by Daddy and those belonging to Him, and I believe it.  I'm grateful for it... and I'm not alone.
You, too, are precious in His sight.  He's looking at that heart of yours and smiling, for it is lovely.  He finds you pleasant to behold, and Holy Spirit loves your smile.  Know that, beloved, and be glad.  REJOICE that our God does not see as mankind sees, "for man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)
Humble, contrite spirits melt the heart of God.  Always be willing to turn away from following after the opinions of others and cleave only to the truth of God. Cling to His character like an adoring child, beloved; ingest the love He has for you and let your mind-sets adopt His opinions as dear children.  In the face of world views, always ask yourself, 'what does God think?'; ask Him, and base your assessments on His truths alone. Remember that it is impossible for Daddy to lie; I love that best of all, because He looks on me and says, continually, that I am precious.
Beloved, He's saying the same things about you.  God bless you.

Disarming Our Enemies

Proverbs 16:7 says,
"When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."
My mother used to say, "in other words, He'll make your enemies leave you alone."

I've seen this truth in action, y'all.  Several years ago, I was taught that when our lives are in right standing before God, in prayer we can legally break agreements existing among enemy forces.  (In right standing means holding no unforgiveness/offense against them or others, and having our own sins confessed and covered by Christ's blood.)

A Testimony

I stood on this principle during the last few years I worked outside the home at a tiny firm which got gobbled up by a major corporation during my stay. The angry, fearful attitudes of many long-time employees became almost unbearable - especially toward me when I shared the confidence I had in Daddy's hand on the future.  In 27 years in the workplace, I'd rarely encountered the level of ridiculously juvenile, foul treatment I experienced when their fear collided with my faith!  It was as if they believed I betrayed them by not aligning myself with their vitriolic rebellion against the "new" company.

Long-story-short, when I forgave them for their (shall we say, demonstrative) resentment of me and then took authority in Christ's Name over the "agreement" a few of them forged to make my work life difficult, Daddy honored my prayers.  Many times afterward, they simply didn't "engage" me - they'd only shake their heads and walk away; but the bottom line was that - for the most part - they left me alone, thank God.

Awesome Fruit

Walking in faith, peace, and obedience with God literally seeds in to those same qualities being returned to us in just the right places, friends.  We already have blessing coming to us via Daddy's law of reciprocity, but His gracious, loving-kindness is what deliberately targets the blessing to relieve the "droughts" and "storms" of our lives.  Hallelujah!  I love that about His heart! Who is like our God?

Most important, pleasing the Lord also built my "love relationship" with Him, bringing me into the knowledge of my identity and life's purpose.  It allowed Holy Spirit to enter the darkest recesses of my emotions to deliver and heal me and my bloodline. That continues.

Beloved, the more we believe, the more we please Him and draw nearer to His founts of blessing. The more we receive His heart for us, the more He exposes and cleanses our hearts so our ways will continually please Him, and our enemies will leave us alone.  Amen.

Praising His Mighty Name,
