Seasonal Break

God keeping me, I'll be taking the rest of the week off from posting to my blogs. Instead, I plan to spend more time reading other blogs and encouraging the Body of Christ on and off the internet.  Over the years I've found Holy Spirit's advice most precious and valuable - if you want encouragement, be an encourager; if you want readers, be a reader; if you want prayer, pray for others; if you want friends, be friendly, and so on.  It always reaps delightful reward and focuses my heart on drawing from the Lord.

So, don't be surprised if you see my smiling face, +1, "likes", and encouraging comments on your blogs and general posts even more than usual, my friends.  There are many marvelous works online which I follow, appreciate, and gladly pray for at Holy Spirit's request.

Lord willing, I'll be getting some rest also and I hope many of you will, too. Blog prayerfully, righteously, joyfully, and often; rest regularly and well... that's what I believe!  =0)

Friends, please look for new posts on all the ministry blogs starting the week of June 2, 2014 (Daddy's Girl will resume June 3).  Until then, God bless you all and please do enjoy your summer!

Love in Jesus,
DADDY'S GIRL

P.S.  God bless you all for the sweet birthday wishes I've received; they've warmed my heart and made me grateful to God for my friends and family in Christ. The occasion was marked in lovely fashion with song, cake, pie, cards, gifts, loved ones, and God's word to my spirit.  =0]

Happy Birthday!

This is my birthday month.  God willing, tomorrow marks the completion of 49 years on the earth (by God's calendar, not man's).  Saturday begins my 50th year... my year of Jubilee.

I haven't personally celebrated my Gregorian birthday (May 25th) for about four years; rather, I relish marking the "real birth date" of 23 Ziv (a.k.a. Iyar) according to the Hebrew calendar. I figure, why celebrate the man-made date when I now know the God-ordained one?  (Some friends still mark the Gregorian date with loving wishes, which I understand and appreciate.)  This year, 23 Ziv falls on May 23rd... so please remember me tomorrow, beloved!  :0)

Lord willing, the first week in June we'll talk more about coming into the Year of Jubilee by God's definition.

Love you all.

Badge of Honor

Who among those of us loving the Lord haven't been looked on as foolish by others from time to time?  We've all encountered tilted heads, crinkled brows, and mocking "harrumphs" just because we've admitted loving Jesus with all our hearts, right?

Wear it as a Badge of Honor, beloved.  You were chosen by God to confound those thinking themselves wise, bringing conviction to their flesh-ruled hearts and - hopefully - pointing their thirsty vessels to the True Well of Jesus Christ.

No matter how "the mighty" call you weak and think you're weak, beloved, you know the Father Who sent you is Greater than all.  You know He alone is Mighty to Save and has trusted and selected your persevering heart to KEEP SPEAKING TRUTH to the unsaved and KEEP LOVING the unlovable.

Someone who was thought foolish won you to Jesus, didn't they?  For me, it was my mother.  I've personally heard her mocked repeatedly for her love of Christ - but that didn't stop her from living a Godly life before me every day... it didn't stop her from loving even her mockers.  I'll never forget her example of love and faith in Christ Jesus.  Never.  It made a woman of God out of me and positioned me to be nurtured by others sent to mentor me after she died.  Thank You, Jesus.

Frankly, even now, if I'm ever mocked or otherwise mistreated for the cause of Christ I rejoice (at least eventually) and consider it a true honor to be verbally scourged for His namesake. Hallelujah!

How about you?

Be blessed, y'all.

Yeah, well...

Many people struggle with allowing themselves to be complimented. Though it helps, it's not enough to have friends and loved ones point out this unfortunate tendency.  Daddy has to be allowed to uncover the problem's roots and, for me, self-loathing was the culprit.

Folks who tend to side-step encouragement and replace it with reasons supporting self-deprecation are bound by negative spirits warping their emotions one way or another.  That was my predicament.

Deep down, I didn't believe I was worthy to receive the blessings given to me and the truths told to me about them.  My emotions were so swaddled by confusion, wounding, and guilt over sin that it was often difficult (and sometimes impossible) for me to answer compliments with even a simple "thank you".  With self-loathing, you literally are your own worst enemy.

I believed the lie that I was a despicable person because of the perverse sexual acts I committed in my youth and concealed from my mother.  The enemy loves to make a sour stew of lies mixed with scripture, using condemnation to spoon-feed the caustic concoction to our emotions.  In my case he used the scripture stating, "the liar hates the one he lies to" from Proverbs to torment me with the lie that I hated my mother since I concealed my sexual exploits from her, even when she asked me about them.  Since my mother did not deserve lies nor hatred from me or anyone, ever, it took years for the Lord to put the ax of His Truth to the root of the condemnation I heaped upon myself and deliver my emotions from its treacherous, moldering grip.

Back then, my heart and my actions often diverged.  In truth, many of us behave in ways polar opposite our heart's true desires/intentions. Tenderhearted people often behave callously to "protect" their visceral underbellies; some serious-minded people act like class clowns to avoid being perceived as dull or boring; and loud, crass, "mouthy" folks are often inwardly afraid of their own shadows, etc.

While I had a heart to encourage others and I acknowledged its critical value, I wouldn't allow myself to be encouraged.  But Daddy came to my rescue through Holy Spirit, and I allowed Him to expose the lies so that I could repent and be exonerated from sin.  It was the only thing that helped.  Owning your own stuff and relinquishing the lies to Christ's power is the only thing that will ever help, beloved; and it will do more than that - Daddy's truth will FREE you from bondage.  Do you want to be free?

Let's pray...

[Merciful Father, please help us all to see the lies holding us captive to every form of sin; please cause us to repent of all agreement with those lies and release them to Your Sovereign power and will to deliver us, so that we will be forgiven, blood-washed, and secured by Christ's restorative love. Please fill every void with Your Truth which protects and enables us to enjoy the harvest of Your blessings created for us from the very beginning. In Jesus' Name we pray and thank You. Amen.]

Commissioned to "Tell"

[Encouragement resulting from sharing Daddy's truth with a non-believer today on Twitter.]

Dear friends, be encouraged that any opportunity to impart truth is a blessing.  Every time God allows us the chance to tell the truth about Him and His love, Holy Spirit takes away the "excuse" that truth was never told.  Oh, yes it was, baby!  :0)

How people respond to God's truth through us is not our responsibility and, if folks choose to reject the truth, it's not our fault.  We're only commissioned to "tell", because everyone needs Jesus.  Cover and seal God's truth through you with Christ's blood, and pray often for the listeners.

When we've spoken as God has commanded us, we've done well; consider all "Divine appointments" you answer in obedience to be successes, whether the listeners have actually "received" God's truths or not.  Plant and/or water God's seed of truth among mankind as He directs, beloved, but know that its germination is Holy Spirit's jurisdiction based on the condition of the listeners' hearts.

How freeing is that truth?  Amen! It offers direct censure to all the enemy's chiding regarding our effectiveness as Christians and witnesses for Jesus. It kicks condemnation in the teeth.  I'M ENCOURAGED! God is so good!
"His TRUTH shall be your shield and buckler." (Psalm 91:4b)
Have a terrific day, y'all.

What Do You Want?

What are the most pressing questions or requests of your heart to God?

Even if you can't handle His answers or blessings all at once, making your requests known is what He desires. Within the realm of His plans, He wants to please us... did you know that? Not only will He give us what we desire, He will mercifully place good and perfect desires upon our hearts in the first place.  Through process, He will enable you to receive the answers to your questions and His blessings of fruitfulness to your coffers.

So, what would your questions and/or requests be?

Here are three of mine:

1.  Merciful God, please always keep my heart open to obediently receiving Your "perfect" will for me.
The Best of
Remember that God also graciously grants His "permissive" will to us regarding our requests. In it, He honors the personal desires and human condition of our hearts in areas where His "perfect" will would ask more of us.  No destruction comes of choosing His permissive will, but its rewards are less.  Of course God will not reject or chide us for choosing either route He offers.  As I said, I see God's graciousness in this... but I highly recommend submitting to His perfect will.  It requires more of us in every area, but its rewards are the highest and its transforming powers the greatest.  Remember that Holy Spirit will enable us to say "Yes" to Abba's perfect will.  Also, isn't receiving the highest and greatest God has for us in every place the ultimate goal of life?

2.  Dear Lord, please cloak me in Your humble discernment.

I want to see God's hand in everything of life; that's part of what being an encourager is about. Only truth encourages, and sometimes it's difficult for others to see Romans 8:28 at work in their lives when things get tough.  Needless to say, God's cloak of humble discernment is MOST necessary in my own life, first, and I want that more than anything. When I discern Holy Spirit's operatives, I leave my own machinations and figuring on the ground.  I bow my knees to Abba's way whether I understand it or not, because I trust Him. I also know that, in process, He will bring me into understanding of His righteousness in every place.  Amen.

3.  Father, please grant me Your forgiving heart.

Heart transplants please Daddy immensely.  They are one of the greatest triumphs He can achieve in a soul and arguably pose the biggest challenge to any life.  Forgiving as God, for Christ's sake, forgave... wow.  Is it even possible?  YES it is, but not without myriad trials and testing... and that's an understatement.  The road to God's granting of this particular request IS NOT for the weak-kneed.  In retrospect, it's the one thing my mother definitively told me to ask of God.  Though I'm certainly still in process, I am so glad she did.  I deeply respected everything she said through God's wisdom, and I cling to this directive in every open space and recess of my mind.  Whether we want to face it or not, beloved, forgiving as God forgives is the highest call of maturity on our lives.  It can only be accomplished through our intimacy with, obedient submission to, and humble trust of each Person of the Godhead. Period.

*******

Are there more questions and requests I'd make of Daddy? Certainly there are; but I pray this sampling of the actual petitions I've made will encourage you to approach God freely about taking the most critical steps necessary to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ.  My prayers are with you.

Believe

When I yield my substance to the Lord, I am new and full of faith. I have peace.

When I seek Him to fill all the "voids" in my life, He is faithful to fill... He is diligent to fulfill.

God is no respecter of persons, beloved; He will renew, fill, and fulfill all who call upon Him... all who yield to Him their substance.

Do you believe this?  All you need do is believe.

That's a word the enemy does not want you to know or utilize in any of your dealings with God.  Daddy honors "belief"... He answers "faith".  Sickness bows to faith, as does confusion and misery and hardness of heart and shame.  Actually, the list is endless... and the key is faith, believing.

Belief is a choice.  Choose to believe that God the Father loves you beyond all else or others in your life and that He will never stop doing so.  Let that truth sink into your soul and spirit; let it  govern your future choices.  Daddy loves all He has created, but He is specifically responsible for all who have given themselves and their lives to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, as dear children. He takes His responsibilities seriously.

Do you believe this?  All you need do is believe.

I believe.  If you haven't already, I pray you make the choice to believe the Lord is your every and only hope.  Make it today, you won't be sorry you did.  God bless you.

We are the Clay

It all comes down to this blessed verse for me, my friends.  When all is said and done (and it is so waaay before that!), the Lord our God is in charge.  He is the Potter - we are the clay.

He is the Creator - we are the creation.  We are the work of His hands, and all of His hopes, dreams, and intentions for us are good.  He fashions us for greatness and assigns to us exquisite worth.  We are His children and are, therefore, dearly beloved.

Merciful Father, seek out and destroy every evil thing in us, and make us again, anew, as it seems good to You.  In Jesus' Name we pray... Amen.

What Does it Mean to Seek God's Favor?

Shortly after I found divorce papers at my door 13 years ago, I remember God saying to me, "Seek My Favor.  Seek My Favor above anything else in your life."

And something clicked within me, like a light switch set to "on".  I resolved that day, sitting in the sunshine in my lawyer's parking lot, to do just that.  I put my ex-husband's acts behind me (or at least at that point, very far off to one side) and sought the Lord and His favor like never before.

What's that mean, you ask?  What does "seeking His Favor" entail?  It's not complicated. Its major component involves our decision.

For me, it was resolving to shut the door on my television, videos, radio, telephone, and distractions of every other kind so that He and I could know each other's hearts on a whole new level.

I pulled down my window shades and gave Daddy my absolutely undivided attention whenever He called for it.  And I worshiped Him by loving Him enough to tell Him the secrets of my heart.  Stuff I dared never say out loud until then, I uttered before Him and treated Him as a trusted Friend.  I cried and shared and asked for His mercy, will, and guidance of/in my life.  I asked for HIS plan to overtake me, and not the theorizing of my flesh.  I was honest.  I was humble.  I was diligent and faithful in my time of obedience to answer His request to spend time with Him so He could clean me up... dry my tears... and teach me in the deeper ways and things of Him. I LET HIM TALK TO ME, and He enabled me to "please" Him by increasing my faith every time I met with Him.  He strengthened my heart with His peace and augmented my resolve to keep coming in to Him.

He gave me Favor, and He caused me to know exactly why it is more precious than life.  Only your spirit-man in connection to Him can receive that fully, beloved.  But when you DO come in to the place where He dwells, you will know it.  It's a private, personal, incomparable experience that can't be quelled once it's reached and embraced your soul.  Thank You, Jesus.

All you need do is obey Him; kneel when He moves your spirit to kneel, or get on the floor on your face, and let His power envelope you.  Humbly worship Him by simply pouring out your heart of love upon Him.  He LOVES to hear you tell Him that you love Him when it's coming from your full, true, and sincere heart.  There's no more or greater tonic for His Spirit than that!  We can and do bless the Lord, you know... and He revels in our blessing every time we take away the things of this world from our midst and choose, instead, to spend our time with Him.  Blessing Him, crying to Him, praising and worshiping Him, and just talking to Him about the deepest things in our hearts.

We gain His Favor when WE FAVOR HIM above the distractions and deterrents of this world.

Reward Comes...

The Lord rewarded me during the time of recovery from a divorce He didn't ordain.  I obeyed Him every step of the way and He blessed my coffers and made them FULL of His JOY and FAVOR and COMFORT.  He taught my soul more and more of the things of Him, and I fell utterly in love with His revelation to my heart simply and sincerely of all the "goings on" that made up Him (everything my spirit-man could withstand at the time, that is).  We all know there's never an end to the height or depth or width of the Lord and, in truth, my soul was blessed with holy molecules of His Heavenly Presence.  But even that teeny, tiny amount blew open my life with JOY everlasting, unspeakable, and the merciful, benevolent "keeping power" from on High!  HALLELUJAH!

He gave me Favor and made me a discerning, new woman in Christ Jesus after the darkest time of my adult life had miraculously passed over me.  Thanks to His Love and Favor, not a hair on my head was singed, and I retained no smell of smoke.  Glory! Glory to His Name!

My prayer for you all, beloved, is that you are moved to "seek God's Favor" as the highest aim in your life.  Put away all distraction and things of this world, and seek His Favor through time spent with Him.  Then Holy Spirit will usher you into the Secret Place of life renewed in Jesus Christ, where the Godhead Themselves will meet you.  You will NOT be sorry you did.

Amen.  God bless you.

Follow to Lead

Dearly beloved, if you believe you can lead without following, you're mistaken. The most effective leaders are the most diligent and humble followers.

No one can show others how to follow without knowing how to follow.  You can't teach what you don't know... you can't lead where you don't go.

Remember that Paul said, "follow me as I follow Christ." (1 Cor. 11:1)  We lead by example when we teach others to follow God by following hard (with extreme diligence and exclusivity) after Him ourselves.

The notion of folks in the world who say, "I wasn't born to follow, I was born to lead" is pridefully incorrect.  You cannot lead successfully (in the way that pleases God) unless you humble yourself, receive instruction, and first (and always) follow Abba.

True leadership in Christ is marked by humility.  The humbler you are, the more "teachable"; the humbler you are, the stronger and wiser; the humbler you are, the more mature you are in Jesus Christ.  HUMBLE IS THE WAY.

If you are called by God to "lead", remember what that means first and foremost is you've been called to follow hard after Christ (Who is our Example in all things).  The day you decide you are no longer a "follower" of Jesus is the day you are no longer a "leader" in Jesus.

Those who follow Christ in the excellence prescribed by Abba are those who He entrusts with showing others how to follow Christ.  Leaders are "good and faithful servants" of the Lord.  While they are not novices in God's Kingdom, they are forever "children" of God perpetually in need of Daddy's leading and affirmation.  The more intoxicated you are by Abba's loving guidance, the abler you are to lead others to the "new wine" of His Spirit.

Want to lead in any capacity in Jesus? Be of a humble, single mind to follow Him in every capacity, no matter what.

Blessing is Best

There's more to being "carnally minded" than thinking about sex all the time.  The flesh and its ways paint broad brush strokes on the canvas of life, and today I'm sharing my thoughts about... well, thoughts.

Ever struggle with thoughts of pride, guilt, condemnation, resentment, greed, self-righteousness, or envy?  Who hasn't?  Ever run angry scenarios through your head so many times that, when you actually encounter the object of those imaginary dramas, you can't even be civil to him/her because you've raged at them in your mind?

Unbelievable, isn't it...?  Nevertheless, such entanglements oscillate torturously and continually within the grim existence of the "carnally minded".

Lately, though, Holy Spirit has touched my heart to resolve to pray a blessing over any and every person who negatively comes to mind, rather than allowing carnal thoughts, opinions, imaginations, and desires to control my attitudes and speech.  I think that's a great idea!

Not only does it tick the devil off (a huge plus, IMO), but it sows blessing into my life to sincerely speak prayers of blessing and God's mercy, etc. onto anyone, let alone the unlovable (or those I've ignorantly perceived as such).  Assuredly, it will do the same for you.  Aligning ourselves with God's heart to bless and not curse breaks up the hard ground of pride, offense, and unforgiveness in us and allows further infusion of God's supernatural obedience and humility into our lives. Blessing reaps blessings and - with God - every blessing comes with a blessing.  Sounds just like Him, doesn't it?

Turn your back on "carnal" mindsets, for they reap ungodliness and death.  Ask God to put His Guard over the door to your tongue; then open your heart to the "life and peace" that comes with pleasing Daddy as you earnestly declare blessings over those who have hurt you, and those you have hurt.  Do this every time they come to mind.  Bless and curse not, as scripture says, and you shall have sure reward from our Father Who is in Heaven.  Amen.

God bless you.
