Come Up Higher

Public Domain photo
Holy Spirit's our Helper; if you want to "go higher" in the Lord, ask for His help.  He will cause Abba's will to be revealed to you so that you can meet Him on the plain He intends.  Remember that going higher in Christ requires greater obedience and greater sacrifice; more focus on the things of Daddy's Spirit and Kingdom, and much less on the world at hand.

Reach up and out to the Father of us all through His Spirit dwelling in you; He knows what level you're on and how to bring you up higher.  Do you want to go?  It's on my heart today to ask this, because our transformation requires our willingness to be transitioned from status quo to something new by God's definition.  Otherwise, we will go to our "familiar" places waiting for God to fellowship with us, but God won't be there.  Friend, He'll be standing on a level above you with hands outstretched, beckoning you to come higher; and you must not be afraid.  My prayers are with you. Don't be afraid to trust Him, beloved; trust Him, take His hand, and come up higher, in Jesus' Name!

Let's praise Him in prayer...

[Oh, my Father, You are the most important Person, place, and thing to us!  You are our passion and our fascination.  True ecstasy lies not only in being constantly amazed by You but in being more intimately acquainted with You, day by day. That's what we want, for You are our life's infilling and overflowing; You are the everlasting and Eternal God.  Through faith in Your Son Jesus the Christ, we call upon Holy Spirit to put our hand in Yours and take us higher!  In Christ's sweet and precious Name we pray, praise, and thank You.  Amen.]

Taking His hand always,

Choose to Win

It's a wonderful thing to be in a state of heightened faith in the Lord. You feel yourself an impregnable warrior because you are... because God's faith surrounds you and it is faith that makes you whole, well, fruitful, blessed, prosperous, and strong. His faith gives you joy, His joy gives you strength. My faith has been heightened in the Lord, and I am well. I pray you are well, too.

Don't turn your back on faith, turn your face toward it and simply say to the Lord that you choose to have faith, you choose to have hope, you choose to believe that what He has promised He is also able to perform and will perform. Then hold on to that faith and all its fortifying fruit with all of your might; you'll surely please God thereby!

Choose to believe and smile and have joy and strength; choose to do so from the depths of your heart. Choose to be invincible in stunning faith and belief in Him.  As His child, God has already put you in the winner's circle, my friend; so accept and receive the spectacular garland of His faithfulness draped victoriously around your neck, and REJOICE!

Choose to receive the promises; choose to win.

The Deepest Love IS within Your Grasp

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God." (Psalms 42:1)

In tears, I used to tell Daddy that - although I had so much love to give - I despaired because I had no "man" in my life with whom to share it.  I used to ask Him how I could ever express and share the tidal waves of compassion, understanding, love, and passion within me if I had no husband.

Now His answer to me seems obvious but - believe me - it didn't back then.

In exasperation I would ask Him, what do I do with all of this love I have to give?  Then one day in prayer, when my heart and soul were quieted enough to hear Him, Jesus tenderly answered...

"Give it to Me.  Give Me all the love that you hold... I know what to do with it, beloved.  I will answer it, and return it, and grow your spirit through it like no one else can.  I Am your First, True Husband... so GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR LOVE, My love.  You were created to love Me."

Friends, that registered with me so heartily and truly... every fiber of my being knew it was so. Right then I knew Jesus the Christ was (and is) the only answer for even that seemingly unsolvable dilemma; I'd never understood that before.  I mean, I knew He'd wiped away my sins and freed me from their shame... I knew He died for my reconciliation to Abba, and I knew Him as God's holy and righteous Son.  But never for a moment did I think He could really, truly be my Divine Husband!  Not in ways so specifically intimate and crucial to my emotional well-being; not in answer to my heart's cry for deep love and affection and desire to lavish those things upon Him repeatedly in fathomless adulation and embrace.

But He IS, and the sacred love birthed only from His powerful womb upon His children IS within my grasp... and your grasp.

In time alone with Christ I behold His Righteousness, Wisdom, and Favor; I adore Him with all of my might.  I lay on His Breast and pour out my heart to Him in tears - all good - lavishing upon Him every ounce of passion flooding my heart in multiplied expressions of love and desire unleashed in exchange for total transformation to His image by Abba's power, no matter the cost.

Then my jubilation explodes upon Jesus like buckets of brightly-colored paint meeting pure white canvas. Holy Spirit anoints me with silky, fragrant oils... and I bathe the Lord in the searing light of worship reflected from pools of His own Living Water bubbling within me!  HALLELUJAH!!!

For me, the best part about it is... that is how it is meant to be!

Dearly beloved, give Christ Jesus ALL of the LOVE in your heart in EVERY area.  He IS your Divine Husband, and He will receive your "panting" heart for Him and the things of His Spirit like a young groom enthusiastically envelopes his bride.  Jesus will fill to overflowing the cups, bowls, pitchers, buckets, barrels, and vats of your life with all of Himself upon the asking...  Yippee!  =0)

He is the everlasting nourishment for every hungry heart, and there is no one more deserving or appreciative of our love out-poured.  Indeed, first and foremost, we were created to love Him.

The New Year at "His Table"

The year released before me rises in brightness like a clean, white, linen tablecloth spread fresh to hold the banquet of God's favorable future for me. The refreshing thing about it is that although I don't know every nuance and detail of what will be set before me, in Jesus, I know that all of it will be good and nourishing; the strength factor for me exceeds 100 out of 100 in His will, purpose, plan, and desire.
And so I welcome His table, stretching long and far in front, inviting scads of ancestral nurturers and descendants also refreshed by the insatiable goodness slaloming sweetly from person to person, like spun caramel.
I've taken my seat at this table and - by and by - as the year comes upon me, I expect only to know the goodness of my Father in His unyielding love, delights, and bountiful pleasures.  For His intentions are all good for me, and His favor stilts my circumstance in vision, support, guidance, and caretaking. Indeed, I learn to dance balanced on His mighty feet.
Pressed gently to His table and presented with the gracious menu of His good and prosperous desires, my mouth waters with praise softly parting my lips. I am kissed by aromas widening my eyes and exciting my palate's expectancy of growth spawned by the flavors of God's extravagant love.  All about is promise and proclamation of good pleasure in renewal sealed by God's oath for all before whom Christ's feast is set.
I look back toward the old year but cannot find it; my praise ascends to the riches of His goodness, looking only forward to the powerful bounty prepared lovingly for me.
Swirls of righteousness in fresh linen fill my nostrils with hope, joy, and understanding, for our God is faithful.  I cannot help but smile leaning forward to view the vast expanse of preparation as I see Him standing there, at the head, breathing life upon all things and welcoming those called to partake of His plentiful mercy in the exceeding, abundant, joy and provision to come... for He is the beginning and the end... the everlasting and eternal... God.
Happy New Year,
"... fervent in spirit, serving the Lord."
